They have also released a free version, which provides basic functionality with the ability to buy in-app purchases to do things like create a chart, or look at transits and progressions.

I have only reviewed TimePassages Pro (available at the iTunes store here), which was kindly provided to me gratis by AstroGraph Software for this purpose. The app does not provide interpretations of house overlays. You can also get “down and dirty” by reading interpretations for all the various interaspects between the two charts. TimePassages Pro provides visual “meters” rating the following on 10 point scales: Overall Long Term Career Support Home and Family Communication, Money, Romantic Attraction.

Desktop software programs do this, and although I do not know the technical difficulties involved in making an iPhone app do this, it would be a valuable feature for the professional edition.įinally, you can compare charts.

It would also be nice to be able to export an entire transit/progressions report as a PDF and be able to email it. You just get them broken down into short-term and long-term aspects. Unfortunately, you don’t get an “overiew” of the length of the different transits you have to click on each one individually, so it’s difficult to get a bird’s eye view of how various aspects overlap each other. The above also applies for secondary and solar arc progressions.īeing able to read the meaning of transits and progressions, both through houses and by aspect, can be a valuable tool for aspiring astrologers. You can also read interpretations of a planet transiting through a house in your chart. The app also tells you where in relation to your natal planet the transiting planet is right now (e.g., applying, exact, separating). For example, if a transiting planet will be moving retrograde over your natal planet, then you’ll get three date periods in which the transiting planet is in tight orb to the natal planet. One useful feature is that the transit interpretations will include times when the transit is in influence. You can also look at a list of transits for any date, and you’ll be able to view a biwheel chart. Rather, it is a list of current astrological influences (or transits) along with interpretations. The “Daily Horoscope” is not a Sun sign horoscope. The app breaks aspects down into strong, medium and weak based on tightness of orb. When you click on “Planets” or “Aspects,” you can read well-written interpretations of your planets in signs and houses, as well as the aspects between them.

It would also be nice if you could export the chart as an image file and be able to email it. You can also choose your house system (Placidus, Koch, Campanus, etc.) The downside-and this has nothing to do with the app, just that it’s on the iPhone-is that the wheel is so small that it’s not easy to read, especially if you want to use the app for mini-readings at a metaphysical fair or do an impromptu reading for a friend. In the settings, you can choose points to display such as Chiron, other centaurs, major asteroids, Eris, Lilith and more objects. When you view your chart, you’ll see all the planets and nodes, as well as the degrees of the house cusps. You’ll then see a “home page” where you can view your chart, your daily horoscope, transits, secondary progressions, compare charts, and look at interpretations of your Sun, Moon and Ascendant by sign and (for the first two) house.

Just enter your name, birth info and location of birth. The app will first ask you to create a profile. This app will create charts, calculate transits, secondary and solar arc progressions, and compare the compatibility of two charts. If you’re an iPhone user, then you’re in luck, because you can do quite a lot with TimePassages Pro. Whether you’re a practicing professional astrologer or a serious student, being able to pull up a chart when you’re away from your main computer is a great convenience afforded by our current technology.
